Charlie McElvy, the founder & publisher of Xion Studios, LLC. books is releasing a brand-new Spider-Squirrel & Trash Panda adventure in what Xion Studios is calling a “Titan-Sized” special — something of a throwback to the classic 80-Page Giants of previous decades.
This comicbook special will have a standard, full-length lead comic story of 24 pages featuring our titular heroes in a brand-new story that serves as a loose bridge between volume one, recently collected in a trade paperback, and the upcoming volume two set to launch later this year. The rest of the special is filled out with 56 pages of shorts set across the Xion Universe of characters and places — setting the book’s starting minimum at 80 pages.
This anthological walk through the Xion Universe will host a series of first appearances, including a character created by comics great Dean Haspiel. Other collaborators include USA Today Best-Selling author Russell Nohelty, comics journalist and author Kat Calamia, Kurt Belcher, Morgan Quaid, Daniel Kalban, J.C. Carter, Canadian journalist Joshua Pantalleresco, Tom Stillwell, Dakota Brown, and more. Artists highlighted in this volume include Chris Batista, Anthony “ANMPH” Hary, Dale Yaddow, Paul Gori, Greg Maldonado, René Córdova, Paul Michael Walcott, with Saul Shavanas as the artist for the main story. Vito Delsante is editing the volume.
This release will feature three cover variants, one of which will be available as a “mystery cover” pre-order set to debut at Baltimore Comic-con as a con exclusive on September 7, 2023, with art by Spider-Squirrel series artist D.C. Stuelpner.
