A 12-man tournament will take place to determine a NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The champion will be exclusive to the RAW brand. He will be crowned after a series of matches, which begin on the 5/8 episode of Monday Night RAW.
Two triple-threat matches will take place on the 5/7 edition of RAW, with the two winners facing off in a singles match to close the show. Another triple threat match will take place on the 5/12 episode of SmackDown, with those two winners also facing off in the main event of the evening.
The two winners of the one-night tournament will compete against one another during the ‘Night of Champions’ premium live event on Saturday, May 27, to determine the NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
The 12-man field for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament has been set.
