First Comics News: What is BROKE DOWN AND FOUR DEAD BODIES about?
Travis Gibb: Two criminals break down on the side of the road with 4 dead bodies in their car after a job goes sideways. This crime noir book follows the two characters as they try to find out the mystery of CASE 19 and who may have set them up. Lots of Guns, Lots of Violence and Lots of F-Words.
1st: Who is Randy?
Travis Randy is a CON MAN who after serving 4 years of jail time, Randy is out and ready to take his place in Mr. Washington’s inner circle.
1st Who is Mr. Washington?
Travis: He’s bald, broad, black, and smart. You don’t mess with Mr. Washington. This big crime boss has a lot of rackets going, although his biggest seems to be keeping his business running smoothly with all of his men.
1st Who is Denver?
Travis: You don’t mess with Denver. He’s one dangerous and intimidating dude – a stone-cold killer. Well, that’s what he thinks anyway. Denver is impulsive, unpredictable, and always ready for a fight
1st Who is Miguel?
Travis: Miguel is a realist- he has to be in order to be in this business. He knows that people can rat you out or cheat you, and you have to be ready at all times. His crew is loyal and willing to do whatever it takes to help Miguel get to the top.
1st What is Pyscho 78?
Travis: They are a biker gang run by Boneyard. They have a few charters around colorado and beyond but it seems that the ones that are working in CANYON CITY work for MR. WASHINGTON and protect a bunch of suitcases.
1st Where does this story take place?
Travis: This takes place in CANYON CITY, COLORADO.
1st In the first issue of Broke Down and Four Dead Bodies, Randy and Denver have a simple drop off that turns into a bloody ambush, leaving two gangsters to dispose of four dead bodies. Since the title is still Broke Down and Four Dead Bodies, do they drag the dead bodies from issue to issue? What about triple-A, are Randy and Denver still broken down?
Travis: You just don’t call AAA when you have dead bodies with you. Ya, in issue 2 we become BROKE DOWN AND 5 DEAD BODIES!! There is no change in the title for ISSUE 3 but that doesn’t mean its not the most VIOLENT issue yet.
1st Randy and Denver aren’t in the mafia, what does becoming “Made Men” mean in their world?
Travis: Ya, that is mentioned in issue 2 that MADE MEN is a very interesting term in the BROKE DOWN UNIVERSE. Being a MADE MAN would mean you work closer to MR.WASHINGTON. Mr. Washington personally invites everyone to work with him. To get one step closer means that you can learn how to make real money not just job by job money.
1st What made Felix Novara the right partner for this project?
Travis: His clean style, when you think NOIR. You think that you want dark lines and heavy inks. I wanted this art style to be clean and graphic. He has a unique ANIMI/AMERICAN cartoon style that I love
1st I notice you are kickstarting both issues 1, 2, and 3 what if you already got issue two issues on the previous Kickstarters?
Travis: You can buy it in any order you wanted. We have options to get all 3 or just issue 3. It really depends on what you want.
1st What is the minimum pledge for a digital copy?
Travis: $3 but I am gonna give issue 1 for ZERO DOLLARS

Travis: I believe the Beatles said it best “You get by with a little help from your friends.” I am a super backer on KICKSTARTER and every so often I miss a GREAT KICKSTARTER because I just wasn’t aware. I was happy to join this team of creators and help make sure we each have a chance
1st What does the multi-launch do to enhance The Broke Down and Four Dead Bodies?
Travis: Well, the goal is not just to KICKSTART but I am hoping to build a strong AUDIENCE that believes in this book and wants it to happen. Every issue we add new readers and I couldn’t be happier. We grow in backer count every issue and I just want anyone who reads crime comics to give me a shot.
1st For any readers still on the fence, what makes Broke Down and Four Dead Bodies so cool no true comic fan should miss it?
Travis: Ya, this is the issue to buy!! It’s fun!! It’s bloody and its got some of the greatest art in the series. This is the issue when all the parties from ISSUE 1 AND 2 come together and things get messy. I can’t wait to hear what people have to say about this issue. I am super proud of it. So, if you like Quetin Tarinto Films or Breaking Bad give this a try because that is my target audience.
