Toronto ComiCon 2025: Legends of Horror Comics

Legends of Horror Comics (51:17, 117MB)
Panelists were Joseph Schmalke, Becka Kinzie and Michael Walsh. It was moderated by Sam Noir. The group introduced themselves. Michael Walsh spoke about his recent Universal Frankenstein book. Becka talked about The Substance and her Body Horror work and how she got interested in that. Joseph talked about publishing his series and how he plans to increase the age rating of the series as it goes along so that it will fit the audience as they grow as the books come out, which is something a traditional publisher would be very unlikely to do. The group talked about figuring out ways to take something and make it worse – and when that’s not appropriate. The group spoke of their inspirations, horror as therapy, if they as cartoonists were inspired by art or an image and building a story around it, they gave their recommendations, horror tropes they are sick of, why classical horror monsters still appeal to today’s audience and their interest in doing in other media.
