Flare‘s press conference is very revealing. Flare comes across as materialistic. She is illustrated as a beautiful blonde woman.
As Flare takes to the air the full page pin-up pose is a gorgeous piece of art. She is off to confront Darkon a villain with powers that might just be the opposite of hers. So will her light beat his darkness?
Flare and Darkon do get into one knock down fight. The fists fly and so does the powers. Flare ends up flat on her butt. Well it is a cutely illustrated one at least.
Darkon seems as if he should be a lame villain but he is not. He is Canadian and a worthy foe for Flare.
“The Darkon Effect” Story by Dennis Mallonee, pencils by Tim Burgard, inks Mark Beachum, letters by David Cody Weiss and colors by Tom Luth.
The women Terri aka Flare and her friend Donnah are illustrated so beautifully. The jean shorts on Donnah very sexual. The faces at times could be clearer.
Flare we see living her life. She does have a day job and she is good at it.
Darkon comes back for round two. Flare is full of confidence and rightly so. The light will always shine through the darkness.
“Child’s Play” Story by Dennis Mallonee, artwork by Mark Beachum, letters by David Cody Weiss and colors by Tom Luth.
Flare‘s adventures when she was a girl. Olga and Teresa do have fun playing. These sisters are so beautifully illustrated.
This story does have a little topless nudity.
Flare and her brothers and sister do have a unique family dynamic. There is both love and hate.
A Pin-Up Portfolio: Here are some fantastic pin-ups of Flare from Tim Burgard, Mark Beachum, Chris Marrinan, Dell Barras, Will Meugniot, E.R. Cruz, Rick Hoerg, and Aaron McClellan.
Flare is a shining light! She is a strong and confident character.
