Hello, and welcome to another edition of Twisted News!
I hope everyone’s Christmas and New Year’s were how you wanted to celebrate them. Mine was full. New Year’s is a big deal here in Vegas, but I stay away from the strip because…well…it just isn’t worth all the overcrowding and traffic.
I know what you’re thinking: Amber, it’s March, and you are bringing up Christmas and New Year’s? That was two and a half months ago. Listen, getting back into the grind can take some time for people. Plus, I look at you as a friend I haven’t talked to in a while. We are catching up! 😉
With that said, the New Year comes with resolutions. I made a list of achievements to accomplish, and if there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that keeping yourself disciplined makes anything achievable. Easier said than done, right?
All right, enough with all that normal day-to-day small talk. In this edition, I’m switching gears away from all the horror and discussing another passion of mine. Wrestling.
In the world of WWE, they have been knocking down doors these last couple of years. As the famous words of Roman Reigns, Wreck Everyone and Leave. But in this context, I’m going to alter it a bit and say Wreck Everything and Leave.
So, what’s new in the world of Wrestling Entertainment?
~WWE signed a 5-billion-dollar deal to stream Raw live on Netflix. (That is a huge deal!)
~Charlotte Flair returned after being out for 13 months due to a knee injury.
~John Cena announced it was his last year of wrestling. (Word is getting around that he may be just kayfabing us. But we’ll see.)
~Becky Lynch didn’t renew her contract and decided to pursue other opportunities. (She still hasn’t come back. Good for her.)
~The Rock is back…sort of.
~Roman Reigns returned after his loss at WrestleMania 40.
~Sold out shows…at…every…event. (Wow!)
And that is just touching the surface. Point is, there have been a lot of big changes since Paul Levesque took the reins back in 2022.
I’m excited that the women’s division is getting a bigger spotlight. And yes, it’s because I’m a woman. I believe in all that women empowerment stuff.
I would like to see Evolution come back. (It was the first PPV with an all-female match card.) There have been rumors that we might see it again, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Crossing fingers.
But let’s talk about WrestleMania 41, which is being held in Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world!
This means yours truly will be attending my first big live event. I am so excited! But it definitely came at a steep cost. This year, tickets were so expensive that even the nosebleed sections reached numbers close to a thousand. Insane!
Whether it’s because of WWE or ticket sellers, I now understand how the average 9-5er, living paycheck-to-paycheck American can afford those tickets. Credit Cards. Geezish. Now, I get to spend the rest of the year paying them off. And is it worth it? Well, I’ll let you know after the event.
I’m not thrilled about parking, though. And if you have ever been to Vegas, you know that all those stadiums are in the same vicinity as the others. It will be ridiculous! But all in the name of entertainment sports, right? Wooooo!
Nonetheless, I’m excited to see my favorite performers, one of them being Rhea “Bloody” Ripley. I have followed that girl’s career since NXT UK. She was phenomenal then, as she is phenomenal now. All her success is well deserved!
So, on April 19th and 20th, WrestleMania 41 will be live in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium!
Tickets are still available, I think, so go grab yours. But be mindful of the expenses.
Let’s see what WWE is made of in the City of Sin!
Then, Now, Forever: Together!
What leaves your mind twisted?
Until next time!
