Marvel studios have recently announced the title of the upcoming Captain Marvel 2, a sequel to the 2019 Action/Sci-fi movie Captain Marvel. The recently revealed sequel movie will be called ‘’The Marvels’’. The cast will see an all-female lead team of three for the first time in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Furthermore, as the synopsis was recently revealed on Marvel’s website, we could grasp an idea of the path the director of the film, Nia DaCosta, will take the film on.

The highly anticipated sequel has many Marvel fans itching for more Marvel content. A great way to get ready and prepare yourself for the movie without getting any spoilers is to watch other movies. Some of the best gambling movies and scenes from them can be experienced on streaming platforms. Even revisiting some if you have watched them is sure to give you an enjoyable experience while waiting for the release of The Marvels.

What did Marvel’s Synopsis reveal about the movie?

The official synopsis released by Marvel studios read “Marvel Studios’ The Marvels will feature Brie Larson returning to the role of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers.”. This clearly implied that the film will frontline Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. Additionally, the synopsis stated that she will be joined by Teyonah Parris, who was first introduced as an adult Monica Rambeau in Marvel Studio’s WandaVision. While also stating that the focus will be on the adventures of a superhero trio, with the third character being Iman Vellani’s Ms.Marvel from the Disney+ series of the same name.

The film was teased in the finale of WandaVision in the scene involving Marri’s Monica Rambeau and Skrull, who pointed up in the sky indicating that someone who is living with the Skrulls is waiting to meet her. This movie is sure to be a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and can be a way for Marvel to introduce new and exciting villains to the universe. But there is also the potential of a return for Yon-Rogg, Jude Law’s villain from the first Captain Marvel.

What can we expect?

The Marvels comic was a spinoff of an earlier comic book series titled Marvels. First released in 1994 the comic was created by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross as a way to revisit and humanize the earliest days of the Marvel Universe. The story was told from the point of view of a photojournalist called Phil Sheldon and retold major events in the universe. Marvels as a comic was successful enough to warrant a number of sequels and spinoff projects, like the 2019 studio adaptation. So we may see a take or at least a reference to the original comic.

As for the story, given the fact that for most of the period that Rambaeau’s mother was ill, Carol Danvers was absent and unable to be with her good friend. Which could be the catalyst for one of the sub-plots in the upcoming movie. The sub-plot would focus on the complicated history between Rambeau and Danvers. However, there is nothing concrete that can even so much as hint at the story of The Marvels. This is nothing new since Marvel Studios is known to keep everything under wraps.

The only insight we can hope to see is a potential leak from one of the Marvel cast members, which has happened before. As for the release date of The Marvels, it is scheduled for a theatrical release in late 2022, specifically on November 11th. Which is a ways away, but gives viewers the perfect time to watch Ms.Marvel and have a better grasp on the potential sub-.plot.
