Comments: This starts out so strangely. Chickens talking, Wardens whatever they are are illustrated as monsters. Danielle Pryer does not seem to be phased by any of this she is only concerned about her brother. The Wardens do keep after him and it is a big melee. Wherever they when they come back from the normal world. Danielle seems to be dealing with this rather well.
There is a big red creature on the loose, which or may not be Bruce, Danny’s brother. It is left unclear.
The art at times lacks detail. The Wardens though are illustrated wonderfully as strange creatures.
The story is lacking in delivering the facts on what is happening. So you are left guessing why? Some mystery is good, but all mystery is not.
Danny is one girl with a pump action rifle in hand who is ready to fight. In this book, she stands out more than all the weirdness going on.
