The Hunter is the latest project from Trouble Studios, the folks who brought you Charon 13. Written and illustrated by Dakota Alexander—a visionary artist whose work has appeared in titles including Grendel and The Masters—this superhero horror comic offers a one-way ticket to a world of myth and monsters.
Inspired by 80s Marvel comics such as Moon Knight, as well as classic horror cinema, The Hunter delivers a compelling mix of superheroics, mythology, and, of course, wall-to-wall action.
The Hunter will be printed on newsprint and will feature all the hallmarks of a comic book that could have been released in 1981, including period-specific ads.
The story follows Steven Conrad, a writer and cultural anthropologist. Steven has a little secret. Some might say it’s a dark secret: he is occasionally possessed by the god Herne, transforming into the fearsome monster-hunting vigilante known as The Hunter. As Steven balances his personal life with his supernatural calling, he battles nightmarish creatures while grappling with the cost of his double life.
