I finally started catching up on my ‘To Be Read Mountain’ and was able to read Bronze Knuckles #3. Once I opened the cover, I couldn’t put it down until I finished reading.
Moontreader by Shane Luttrell and art by Kent Clark was one of the best Fantasy stories I’ve read in a long time. Both the writing and art was top notch. I greatly enjoyed reading their story and look forward to seeing more from this awesome duo.
Ichabod Crane Monster Hunter by Jon Erin Mundy and art by Rusty Gilligan was the best horror story I’ve read in a long time. I love the twists given to classic characters and the art by Rusty Gilligan was very impressive.
Atomic Mouse by Scott Mollon and art by Alex Moore was superb. Normally, I’m not big on funny animal stories, but I loved this and look forward to see what happens next.
I enjoyed seeing the preview of The Devil’s Left Hand by James Francis. I instantly thought Spaghetti Westerms and heard the music from one of Clint Eastwood’s movie. I could easily see Clint’s face in the character. I can’t wait to read the story.
Of course I liked the review of Shazam: From The Forties to the Seventies by Ric Croxton (name looks familiar) and art by Indya Simpson. Can’t wait to see next month’s review.
Lastly, The Lone Ranger and The Menace of Murder Valley by Buck Wilson, transcribed by Ric Croxton (him again?) and art by Indya Simpson. The Lone Ranger is my favorite character and I enjoy reading all I can of him. This transcribed copy from 1938 was the oldest Big Little Book I’ve read with him.
I agree with Scott Mollon, the cover by Rusty Gilligan and Jay Mooers looks great and didn’t need anything to distract from it.
As always, I look forward to reading the next issue. Keep ’em flying.
