The Adventures of Auroraman 5th Anniversary!

To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of The Adventures of Auroraman, issue #8, series one trading cards and more!

The Adventures of Auroraman 5th Anniversary Spectacular!

Time to Celebrate 5 Years of Auroraman – 2016 to 2021!

5 years ago, I took a deep breath and launched a paper boat out to sea in the form of a Kickstarter for issue #0 of The Adventures of Auroraman – my very own comic book set in my home town of Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Little did I realize that this little seeming action was the first step in what has been an absolutely incredible adventure ever since!

The Adventures of Auroraman is a nod to the silver age of superhero comics where the heroes are good for the sake of good and head off to all sorts of wild adventures with a smile on their face! In the past 5 years we have had issues #0 through #7 released, 11 smaller scale mini comics, since 2018 bi-weekly newspaper style comic strips (The Stories from The Stew), recorded and released podcast episodes of comic stories complete with narration, voice acting and sound effect (The Audio Adventures of Auroraman), and most recently the YouTube comics (The Power Records Adventures of Auroraman)! All the while I have tourned around the province doing comic conventions, comic store signings, school and library author appearances.

So here we are, 5 years later and celebrating the 5th Anniversary – an awesome milestone in the indie comic world. With this Kickstarter I am bringing you so many awesome pieces of Auroraman goodness!

  • Issue #8 – A 48-page comic features 5 great stories! The artists were paid through a grant from the SK Arts grant program, which helps tremendously with making this project happen. The main story, Good Times in the Badlands, was written and lettered by myself, co-scripted by Graeme Williams, and art by Derrick Burns. In it Auroraman and his students are on a field trip to check out the prehistoric history in Drumheller, Alberta. Come Sail Away is a new story featuring the AuroraRonin character by myself and Sharon Gauthier. We return to the world of Lil Auroraman and Friends, thanks to myself and Sharon Gauthier, with an all new adventure and all new campers! Auroraman takes a well-deserved day off in Spa Day, courtesy of James Zintel and I. In the final short story, Into the Woods, we are introduced to a new world in the Auroraverse along with its hero AuroraBearialis, written by myself and art by Sharon Gauthier! This issue features 3 different covers by talented artists – Jay Stephens, Derrick Burns and A. Shay Hahn!

  • The Adventures of Auroraman Trading Cards series 1 – I love trading cards, there is no denying that, so I knew one of the things I wanted to do to celebrate the 5thanniversary was to launch my own series of Auroraman trading cards! This series 0f 10 cards features a mix of heroes and villains from the Auroraman universe with art by the talented Chris Nesbitt!
Series 01 – 10 cards featuring characters from the Auroraman universe!
