Launched in 2002, Free Comic Book Day is one the comic book industry’s most anticipated annual events, with participating local comic shops around the world giving away free comics to all their patrons as a way to promote local comic shops and their unique places within their communities. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, with over 2,000 comic shops expected to participate.
