| Los Angeles, CA – July 29, 2024 – Tapas Entertainment, a premier digital publishing platform, is thrilled to announce the launch of the “Tapas Action Fantasy Tourney,” an Action Fantasy Web Novel Writing Competition. This exciting new contest aims to spotlight both emerging and established authors within the action fantasy genre, building on the success of Tapas’ previous “True Love on Tapas” competition.
The inaugural competition demonstrated the power of such events in forging strong relationships with talented writers. Instead of traditional contest prizes, this competition offers publishing contracts with a sizable minimum guarantee, creating significant growth potential and publicity opportunities. Participants are invited to submit 20 chapters, each between 1,500 and 2,300 words, with selected stories expected to expand to a minimum of 120 chapters to ensure a satisfying conclusion for readers. The competition is open to all subgenres within action fantasy, and previously published but unmonetized works are eligible. Writers worldwide are encouraged to participate, though all entries must be in English.
Submissions will be accepted from August 1st to October 24th. Following this, there will be a Reader’s Choice Voting period from November 8th to December 2nd to select the top 25 titles. A judging panel will then evaluate these top titles with winners being announced on January 13, 2025.
The competition offers substantial rewards. The Grand prize winner will receive a contract with a $15,000 minimum guarantee and extensive marketing support. The second-place winner will receive a contract with a $10,000 minimum guarantee and marketing support, while the third-place winner will receive a contract with a $6,000 minimum guarantee and marketing support. Additionally, the fourth and fifth places will receive $2,000 each with standard marketing support, and five honorable mentions will be offered contract options to continue serializing and monetizing their novel on Tapas.
Winners will benefit from exclusive three-year contracts, a 50/50 revenue share, marketing support upon premium relaunch, assistance from a lead editor and proofreader, custom cover art design, and consideration for Novel-to-Comic (N2C) and other contributory opportunities. Post-contest, winners will receive comprehensive in-app marketing support, full-scale publicity campaigns, cover art commissions, extensive production, and self-promotion resources.
