Syracuse, NY – Syracuse’s Salt City Comic-Con steps up to a new location this July, announcing a partnership with Destiny. USA and Embassy Suites.
The Central New York pop culture convention, celebrating its fifth year, looks to be a celebration of movies, comics, toys, sci-fiction, card games, cosplay and more – with a focus on fun in a family friendly environment. This year’s convention is the weekend after Independence Day – July 7th and 8th.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Destiny USA and Embassy Suites and can’t wait for this unique convention. By offering adjacent events in the hotel, a festival in the parking lot and taking over the canyon area, we’ll be turning up the fun,” said Convention Organizer Thomas Yeldon.
The convention will attract thousands of fans from across the northeast and will be bringing celebrities as well.
Screen celebrities include The Craft’s Rachel True, Supertroopers’ Rabbit aka: Erik Stolhanske, Black Panther’s Janeshia Adams-Ginyard, Ghost Hunters’ Brain Harnois and Power Rangers’ Jason Narvy.
It will be a big weekend for wrestling fans, as Salt City Comic-Con’s guest list features WWE Superstar Kane, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Andrew Anderson.
Comic guests include Dave Dorman (Star Wars, Batman) and writer Ron Marz (Marvel’s Infinity Gauntlet, Green Lantern, Witchblade) with more to be announced.
Parking will be plentiful and free for the whole weekend, but the best parking spots will be taken by Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine and Supernatural’s Impala. Photo opportunities for fans of these shows will be available.
“We’re focused on creating the best experience for fans, but Salt City Comic-Con also will be providing extra-fun days for kids and families,” said Ed Catto of Salt City Comic-Con. “We will be hosting so many kids activities including a Bounce House, Face Painting, Costume contest and a Dino Dig.”
Beyond scouring the dealer’s rooms from treasures, fans can also enjoy Tabletop Gaming, Food Trucks, Cosplay Contests and Saturday Morning Cartoons at the Embassy Suites.
