Swamp Thing TV show cancelled by DC Universe after one episode

Deadline has reported that the brand new DC Universe television show Swamp Thing has been cancelled before the second episode was even made available. Although the entire ten episode series will be shown on the DC Universe App, the series wrapped filming before the announcement so any potential cliffhangers in the tenth episode will never be resolved. Way to dampen the mood after a very good debut episode that was creepy and, at times, scary.

It is being reported that the recently completed acquisition of TimeWarner by AT&T is to blame and the DC Universe service as a whole may be shuttered before the end of the year as they look to launch a single platform for all their media properties. No word on Doom Patrol which wrapped up its first season (good luck!) or Titans which was renewed for a second season but which may be delayed until the new service launches.
