Angry Bear Press and Full Court Press launch joint project
TYRONE, PA- After guest-starring in a multitude of Independent titles including Mayhem Comics’ SUPERIORS, Xion Press’ SPIDER-SQUIRREL, Action Lab’s STRAY: THE ROTTWEILER YEARS, and a leading role as a member of Coalition Comics’ THE POWER COMPANY, STEEL WOLF is finally stepping out on his own and into a headlining role.
In the pursuit of a high-end thief, STRAY follows the clues which lead him from his own home of KAPPA CITY, to the West Coast metropolis of VANCE CITY, home of STEEL WOLF! Can these two heroes join forces and catch this criminal, derailing their plans? And what secret has STEEL WOLF been hiding, and what does all this have to do with the mysterious CHIMERA SOCIETY?
“I’ve been a fan of STRAY since he first appeared, and I’m extremely excited to be able to continue our characters’ relationship following their initial encounter in STRAY’s own series,” said Bennett. “And after years of personal commissions, mock covers for make-believe comics, guest-appearances, and, amazingly enough, demand from friends and fans, it was finally time to make an actual sequential Steel Wolf project a reality.”
“I have always been extremely protective of STRAY and the characters,” said Delsante. “But one of my personal missions has always been to use my platform to encourage and elevate other creators.” Delsante continued, “When Eric proposed a team-up, I was immediately on board.”
Created and written by ERIC N. BENNETT (INDIEVERSITY, THE POWER COMPANY, TARANIS THE THUNDERLORD, G-MAN 3in1, G-MEN UNITED) with an assist from STRAY co-creator VITO DELSANTE (STRAY, SUPERMAN, X-MEN UNLIMITED, GOLDEN GUARD), this one-shot serves as a springboard into an ongoing STEEL WOLF title. This special is drawn by RON CHARLES WILLIAMS (BIG BANG ADVENTURES, NOTTI & NYCE, BATTLE FAIRY & YETI, ZEN: INTERGALACTIC NINJA, BIG HOUSE BLUES), with colors by TRISTAN MACDONALD (THE POWER COMPANY, TARANIS THE THUNDERLORD, EMPYREAN COMMAND). Bennett himself provides the lettering.
The plan is to launch this special on Kickstarter in the spring, with a May 2022 target launch date. All the linework for the issue will be done by then, with only colors necessary to complete the project.
