What made LILY choose to #WalkAway ??
“I identify as an American. My pronouns are U.S.A.”
That is what you’ll see on the social media profiles for Russian immigrant turned proud controversial patriot, LILY AKOPOVA. In a world that’s gone insane with everyone focused on feelings and being a victim her honesty and directness is refreshing! She’s entertaining and just a blast see online.
Just what is #WalkAway you might be asking?
The #WalkAway Campaign is a true grassroots movement, founded by former liberal, Brandon Straka on May 26th, 2018. The #WalkAway Campaign encourages and supports those on the Left to walk away from the divisive tenets endorsed and mandated by the Democratic Party of today. We are walking away from the lies, the false narratives, the fake news, the race-baiting, the victim narrative, the violence, the vandalism, the vitriol. We are walking away from a party driven by hate. We are walking toward patriotism and a new, unified America! We are the future of this great nation!
I was lucky enough to grab a bit of her time for some rapid fire questions. From a website that offers Trumpy cartoons, here’s a peak at the other side of the political fence! Hope you enjoy this:
1. WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO MOVE TO AMERICA AND BECOME A CITIZEN?
It was always the dream, ever since I was a little girl. “America is the land of opportunity” is what everyone around me said… and it is. I would watch American movies growing up and think “I wish that was me there!” It was just a dream for me though, I never dared to think that I would actually end up moving here. I didn’t speak the language and had no means to fulfill that dream. Then one day, I was passing by this place where you can enter a green card lottery, and I got lucky. That’s why I like to say that if you live in America, you’ve won the lottery… because I had to actually win the lottery to enter this beautiful country.
2. WHAT WAS IT ABOUT “WALK AWAY” THAT GOT YOU TO TAKE NOTICE?
I heard of WalkAway right around the time when I was beginning to see the hatred, intolerance, and violence on the Left. It was a couple months after a few of my favorite conservative speakers were banned from speaking at events in my city. The timing was perfect, and I knew I had to be a part of this. I uploaded my video testimonial to the WalkAway Facebook page right away, and was showered with love and kindness. It was overwhelming in the best way, because I was not used to being treated so kindly by people in San Francisco. WalkAway is for everyone who is against hatred and violence. How can you not want to be a part of that?
3. SAN FRANCISCO SEEMS LIKE THE HARDEST PLACE TO BE A REPUBLICAN, HOW HAS THAT LOCATION EFFECTED YOU?
As much as I am disgusted by people’s behaviors and actions in this city towards republicans, I am forever grateful that I moved here. Because of how politically extreme this city is, I learned about what is going on in our country. I had heard about this from friends in the past, but I didn’t GET IT until I experienced it myself to the point where I just couldn’t ignore it anymore. It was affecting me on a daily basis, I was suddenly treated badly for being white, straight, and, I don’t know, blonde? It was quite depressing for me in the beginning, but I learned to change my attitude about the situation over time. I later “came out” as a conservative, and now I’m just having fun with it- doing pranks and triggering people (in a harmless way).
4. DO YOU LIKE COMIC CONS? WHATS YOUR NERD INTEREST? GAMING, HORROR, WRESTLING, MOVIES – etc?
I’ve never been to a comic con but I’ve always wanted to go. Gaming is what I have experience in mostly.
5. WHAT IS IT LIKE KNOWING THE FOUNDER OF WALKAWAY BRANDON STRAKA (I’ll check spelling) PERSONALLY? HES A CELEBRITY NOW!
I was so nervous the first time Brandon called me on the phone to talk about me managing his WalkAway pages! I was fanning out hard! He IS a celebrity and I did not expect such a blessing. Now that I’ve known him for over a year, I got to see how down to earth he really is. He is such a genuine, kind person, always asks about your well-being, and he gives the best hugs! He is always available when you need him, no matter how busy his schedule is. I am forever grateful for what he did for me. He saved me during the most depressing times for me. He made me realize that I wasn’t crazy, that I wasn’t alone. I’m sure millions of people can relate to this.
6. WHATS THE FUTURE OF THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY LOOK LIKE?
I think we’re going in the right direction. People are finally waking up and realizing that it’s time to take our country back. God willing, we will have four more years of Trump’s presidency. He’s fighting for our country. He’s fighting for us. We need to get more people involved- especially the younger generations, and vote-vote-vote! Democrats have taken over the educational system, so we need to address that before it’s too late.
7. I HEAR YOU USED TO MODEL? HAVE YOU GIVEN IT UP?
Yes, but who doesn’t model in LA? It was more of a hobby, and I later discovered passion for science. I respect that more.
8. WOULD YOU REALLY LIKE TO TAKE OVER AS PRESS SECRETARY?
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I would have big shoes to fill, Sarah Sanders has won our hearts! But a Russian in the White House is the last thing Trump needs right now!
9. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF “AOC” AND HER MEDIA DARLING STATUS?
I honestly can not comprehend how people can take her seriously. The millennials must like her because she is their age and she promises them socialism and free stuff. Those people have never lived under socialism and they don’t know what they’re talking about. I was born in the Soviet Union, and that was no joke. I hope they learn before it’s too late.
10. GOLLY YER PRETTY, WHATS A FELLA GOTTA DO TO WOO YOU AND GET A CHANCE, FLOWERS AND CHOCOLATES?
Open a door for me? I don’t see chivalrous acts here in San Francisco. After living in this city, I don’t need much to be happy!
