Source Point Press Unveils Cast for Franklin and Ghost Animated Series

Source Point Press Unveils Cast for Franklin and Ghost Animated Series Source Point Press, in celebration of New York Comic Con, is announcing that an animated series based on their comic book Franklin and Ghost is currently in development. Along with this news comes the reveal of the main cast voice actors, including Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton.

The Franklin and Ghost comic book series is written by Garrett Gunn with art by Nic Touris. Its sci-fi universe also spawned a spin-off comic book called Warcorns. “Franklin and Ghost is a sci-fi adventure story about two troublemaking aliens who escape slavery on their home planet by stealing a space ship and crashing it on earth,” says Source Point Press Editor-In-Chief Travis McIntire. “They inhabit the closest bodies to the crash site, one being a fox and the other a skull from a cemetery. It’s absolute chaos from there, as they cause all sorts of trouble, landing them on the radar of galactic police forces.”

Joshua Werner, the Art Director at Source Point Press, says Gunn’s story is perfect for an animated series. “Franklin and Ghost is all about being loud,” he says. “Bright colors and fast-paced action and jokes that keep the story in your face from beginning to end. Animation tests have already began and we’re thrilled with the results.” The lead roles have been cast and some recording has begun. Franklin, the raging fox with an attitude, is played by Sean Schemmel, best known as the voice of Goku in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Ghost, the loveable and hilarious floating skull, is played Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade, Bad Santa, Fargo, Armageddon). Delilah, a badass warrior they team up with, is played by Veronica Taylor, best known as the voice of Ash Ketchum in Pokémon and April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. General Erich Badguey is played by Christopher Sabat, best known as the voice of Vegeta and Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z

Source Point Press has Franklin and Ghost art prints, numbered and limited to 100 copies, autographed by the entire lead cast available for purchase at their booth at New York Comic Con, #2243. Also available is the comic book Franklin and Ghost: Origins #1 featuring a NYCC exclusive variant cover, also limited to 100 copies.
