SDCC 2024: SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO COMIC SHOPS WITH MIKEY WAY AND JONATHAN RIVERA’S NEW SERIES, “CHRISTMAS 365”

Christmas 365

Issue #1 arrives this December

MILWAUKIE, Ore., (July 24, 2024)—It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas this July as we start the festivities celebrating Mikey Way, Jonathan Rivera, and Piotr Kowalski’s upcoming Christmas 365! Set to arrive just in time for Christmas, this bizarre feel-good story from Dark Horse Comics features Way (Electric Century, Collapser) and Rivera (Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye) as co-writers, Kowalski on illustrations, Brad Simpson (Summer Shadows) on colors, and Joshua Reed (Joy Operations 2) on letters.

The holidays weren’t always so tough for Peter Rockwell and his family, but a tragic and challenging year finds them stressed out and drifting apart when they should be pulling together. After accepting the wisdom of a Santa Claus at his local mall, Peter hatches a plan to give his family the best year ever, one Christmas at a time!

“Like most kids growing up, I never wanted Christmas to end,” said Way. “When it’s over, you’re left having to wait an entire year for that magical feeling to return. I would often fantasize…what if it never had to end? That very thought was what sparked this story. But as the saying goes, is too much of a good thing not so good?”

Christmas 365 is a satirical comedy about finding balance,” added Rivera. “It’s about pursuing your dreams without giving in to the temptation of a world that wants more and more of us each day, and learning the difference between what we want and what we need.  This book is also our love letter to all of the surreal suburban comedies we loved as kids like ‘Better Off Dead’ and ‘The ‘Burbs.’”

Run, run, readers, to your local comic shop and preorder Christmas 365 #1! Issue #1 (of 4) arrives in stores on December 4, 2024 for $3.99.

Way and Rivera will also promote Christmas 365 at San Diego Comic-Con with a free signing on Saturday from 5-6:30 pm at the Dark Horse Comics booth #2615. This signing will require wristbands, so those interested should stop by booth #2615 first thing on Friday and Saturday mornings for a chance to win one.
