Another year, another sellout. In just over an hour the open registration for the 51st San Diego Comic Con was completed. The following was tweeted out by Comic-Con International Saturday morning:
Badges went on sale at 9:00 am Pacific and were sold out officially at 10:06 am. As in previous years the same sequence of days sold out one after the other. First was Preview Night, then Saturday, followed by Friday, Thursday, and finally Sunday. The open registration codes were sent out to all eligible potential attendees earlier in the week.
Open registration for SDCC marks another hurdle for those wanting to attend the convention in July. Next will be the “hotel lottery” for a place to stay.
However, those who still want to attend a big convention in Southern California still have a chance in April. WonderCon will be held April 10-12 in Anaheim, CA. The convention is also put on by Comic-Con International.
San Diego Comic-Con will take place July 22-26 at the San Diego Convention Center.
