Launching on Kickstarter October 13, 2020 will be a new book from creators Sean and Stephanie Forney for their Scarlet Huntress series. Scarlet’s Field Guide to Cryptids and other Creatures is a journal-based comic book that follows our favorite werewolf huntress Scarlet as she travels the world encountering cryptids and other creatures. The journal is filled with sketches and artwork that Scarlet picks up along her journey as well as stories from both her encounters and eye-witness accounts.Cryptid stories from the book will include run-ins with Big Foot, Skinwalkers, Mothman, Swamp Creature, and many more. Scarlet will also find cases with mermaids, fairies, and a few unknown creatures!
Scarlet’s Field Guide was originally released 10 years ago as a short black and white comic book. Now in 2020 with the help of Kickstarter, the book has been re-imagined in 64 beautiful full color pages with 30 different tales of cryptids and creatures of all kinds. The book will be printed perfect-bound and includes artwork from not only Sean Forney, but from 15 other amazing artists including Jamie Snell, Rodney Fyke, Jay Fife, and more. The campaign will feature nearly 25 different prints, original sketches, and the new add-on feature from Kickstarter where you can purchase additional items to make your Scarlet Huntress package complete. The entire Scarlet Huntress series will be available as a package where you can collect all four previous comics and the new field guide book. There are also plenty of stretch goals to be unlocked including stickers, charms, coasters, bookmarks, and digital books.
