Comments: A priest makes a mistake and feels he should pay for it. Another priest comes up with a way for him to do so. The art style is bleak. The people are drawn without enough definition.
Father Merrick Stygian is investigating an exorcism. Another Father greets him and almost right away you know something is off about Father Bartel. The exorcism does get violent. Father Stygian is good at his job the church feels he needs an apprentice. Father Manuel Barrera the priest made a mistake. He is drawn so his nose looks like it is running all the time.
There is a little mystery in this issue. Which turns into a lot.
Father Stygian does have his secrets. What does he do differently than other exorcists? The story here is not that thrilling, yet it does set up for future ones. Father Stygian keeps an air of mystery about him.
How will Father Barrera do under Father Stygian’s tutelage?
A sense of evil in these pages is apparent.
