Comments: In Egypt, Helen is enjoying a night with the family’s servants’ children. Her father is British, and here the British tourists are treated as better.
As an Archaeologist read a ancient scroll, Helen enters the dig site and passes out. As she wakes up she sees the mummy walks.
Helen gets a stern talking to from her father, and we see her emotions are strong. The art visually displaces her temper tantrum. Helen is having a hard day.
This issue starts the story off nicely. It sets up for the coming issues.
The Mummy is frightening for the short time it is shown and it does have an air of mystery about him. Helen it is easy to see will tie in somehow with a ancient Egyptian Queen. Their souls are connected across time.
The Mummy is a mysterious creature whose evil here is just beginning.
