Comments: “The Befana” Here Sara tells us about her Nana’s favorite Christmas story “The Befana” the Italian Christmas Witch. This is a touching childhood story that turns into one in the present and it is still touching. The Befana may be a Witch yet she brings happiness. Belief is a strong emotion.
Befana is illustrated just as you would expect her to look. Sara looks gorgeous and the look on her face remembering a loving memory comes across as heartfelt.
“Twas The Night Before Darkness…” A family of Darklings is enjoying their Christmas when who should appear to ruin it but old Saint Nick? This tale has a Dark Santa, as told by one Darkling. It is a fun little tale with some darkness added to the traditional story. Santa and Jackie are both illustrated fully in character. The Darkling father, though, steals the show. He gets just what he wants for Christmas.
“Twelve Days…” Aphrodite IX is on a mission or a trap? The story does have a Christmas theme. She is fighting all sorts of genetically altered and cybernetic things. So Aphrodite IX makes it through all the death traps to free Nick. This story does have some great action. The back story is not gotten into much, no why, who, or how answered.
Aphrodite IX is drawn as one beautiful rescuer. Her weapons are large and intimidating. Plus of course, her actions got her on the good list.
This comic pays tribute to Elena Salcedo, Top Cow’s VP of Operations who passed away. It is a very nice tribute.
