Comments: This book collects issues one through five.
Lana, Drew, Shen, Walter, Jay, and Cassandra are all getting together for game night. They do start off playing their role-playing game of fantasy and adventure. Now in the imaginary game, five characters are shown, why only five when there are six people playing?
The five adventurers do find challenges underground.
The popping in and out of the gameplay is well done.
Cassandra the new member of the group is too new and does not play as the rest do. So of course problems are occurring.
The art style is fun and friendly. It makes you want to be a part of this group of friends. Both in and out of the role-playing game. The art showing their game characters adds a nice entertaining touch to each one.
The way the characters in their game mirror the real them is done perfectly. You can tell which is which easily. The game as they continue playing has some twists and turns in it. You start to get a feel for who they really are as well. Friends are made and kept. The emotions both in and out of the game are intense.
The friendships continued and made make this a must-read book. It is wonderful to see someone new accepted into a group and made to feel as if they belong. Good friends are hard to find and make but well worth it.
