Comments: Violet and Sean her brother do care about each other. We see they do have problems like any children. You can identify with them.
Violet has a decision to make magic or her parents. It is not really even a choice. Her parents are not perfect but they are her parents.
The art is done nicely but other than Violet looking so cute it does not stand out all that much.
So is magic ever found here? Maybe, it is kind of up to you the reader to decide.
Violet is the most wonderful character you could ever want to get to know.
