Comments: All the girls are gossiping about their date night. Who did what and how far they went. Raven and Ximena do make a cute couple. There is no doubt these two and many more on Raven’s crew of female pirates are lesbians. All the crew enjoyed the shore leave and now it is back to work. The ship and her crew set sail.
The word balloons get switched between Sunshine and Nanda. Only once.
Raven is a great Captain and when she sees the crew tensions getting heated she comes up with the perfect way to cool them down. All the crew is so full of joy and having fun each in their own way. The couples do pair off.
Then a thunking is heard. Things turn fast from pleasant to fighting for their lives.
Having an all-female crew does create situations that you would never see on a regular pirate ship. Captain Raven is unlike any pirate Captain she is kind and fair and leads by example. She can fight too and fights hard and to win when she does.
The mermaid people are attacking. The mermaids have the advantage at sea in the water. Than Sunshine gets the trident. The way the trident behaves lets you know it is alive and has feelings.
The crew finds themselves fighting for their lives against these mermaid monsters and the ship is sinking. Add to that a raging storm. It is not looking good.
Sunshine does get into a one on one match with Priya. This is one explosive fight.
The mermaids are illustrated to give a slightly scary appearance to them.
All these pirate girls look out for each other. They are a crew who can count on each other and especially their Captain.
We skip ahead some and find an unconscious Raven being looked after by one of her crew after they shipwrecked. The mermaid bit on Raven’s shoulder has moved down her arm? The artist not keeping track from issue to issue. Santos is doing all she can to care for Raven.
Zoe is offered to be saved but at a price. Zoe and Helena have each other.
Val and Melody are within the city walls and find themselves surrounded and in trouble. They are ready to fight through.
We see a small fraction of the crew scattered around. What has happened to the rest? Are they dead? The love they feel for each other is not here. With the couples split apart and at least one half of them missing that love is also missing.
Without the ship and most of the crew plus Raven unconscious and the few crew members still around are scattered this issue is suffering a lot. Hopefully, soon more of the crew will surface.
Ximena is very caring as she looks after Raven. We see how much she does love her.
Ximena finds a couple more of her crewmates. The question though is still what happened to all the rest?
The story does jump around too much without explaining it enough.
Ximena is normally not much of a fighter but for Raven, she goes all out. Her love for Raven drives her to do more than she might want to yet she does what needs to be done. For Raven her girlfriend she would do anything.
Sunshine has certainly changed since last we saw her. She still has love in her though so she is not all evil. The Trident though has corrupted her.
Ximena’s role in this issue makes it shine. She is the star and rightly so. Though in this comic series about Raven you do notice her not being active in it. The love between these two women is so strong, this couple endures anything and everything and they are still together.
