Comments: In Antarctica, an earthquake has revealed something. The art showing the penguins watching it is beautiful to behold. Something has been released.
Tina is visited by her Grandpa who may or may not be dead. He leaves her a gift. Her dad knows about her grandpa and that he is lost at sea. Through dreams, though he appears to Tiny his young granddaughter.
How all the different scenes have been shown tie in together is not clear.
A huge winged monster does come to the city of Montevideo in Uruguay. The artwork delivers frightening scenes as it walks through the city and finds a building to look out over the city. As it breathes fire it creates a destructive path around itself. This creature has a plan.
The creature from the South Pole has been named the Salamander.
Meanwhile, the Grandpa reveals what his gift is for to Tina. This is a whole nother story within the monster one. Are they connected in any way? The ending to this issue does suggest it is. The underwater scenes are so beautifully illustrated and you know that they are the beginning of this huge battle that is to come.
The storytelling does need to tie in better. The art though will blow you away.
