Comments: At the North Pole Captain Robert Walton and his ship are trapped in the ice and they see an enormous man on a sledge followed by another man on a sledge. The second man the Captain finds and brings aboard. The man is Victor Frankenstein.
Growing up, Victor had a thirst for knowledge. He ended up attending University, where he learned all he could and started his experiments. He is a driven man who pushes to understand how life is created. Victor does become obsessed with his work.
The black-and-white art is gorgeous. There is so much detail, it is amazing. The monster is drawn to show his strength. Victor has become obsessed with ending his creation. He is illustrated as a desperate man.
Then Victor Frankenstein does it, and he brings his creation to life. As his creation moves Victor realizes his mistake he has brought life to a horror.
The creature is like a newborn as it explores the world around it. It does not seem evil. It is just learning. It is sad seeing it attacked just for wanting some food as it is starving.
The creature has a kind heart and soul only his being mistreated by man starts to change that. He is judged by his looks alone. Judged to be a monster. It takes a lot to turn him into an actual monster not just in looks.
The monster returns to its creator wanting a mate. You can not help but feel sad for him, being so alone in the world.
The monster wants Victor to suffer as he has and Victor he wants his abomination destroyed. He will follow him to the ends of the Earth if necessary. He does and there they have their final confrontation. This is a sad tale. So much sorry for all involved. The monster never asked for any of it and he suffered most of all.
