Comments: “Deep Secrets” Doctor Arcane and Sentinel are on the scene and in the subway, they find a Nazi sorceress. It is magic and might in a battle of hard-hitting blows. Here a new hero is born in Diamond Jim. The heroes here are all written with purpose, they have no hesitation being heroes.
“Birth of a Bowman” Giant and Bowman face a sorcerer. This is how the Bowman joins the team Vanguard plus his origin. The Bowman and Giant are fun characters.
“New Blood” The heroes all gather in Norway. Then off to a mansion. The new members of the Vanguard of Freedom get an official welcome. It is great to see the team coming together as a whole.
The whole comic moves along slowly even when there is fighting.
The art throughout this comic is done in a style that fits into the Golden Age. The heroes are drawn with a more realistic look and the way they act matches that. They are heroes yet they are still human.
