Comments: This book collects Klaus and the Crying Snowman #1 and Klaus and the Life & Times of Joe Christmas #1.
“Klaus and the Crying Snowman” Klaus is illustrated in battle with a comet monster. These creatures are big and deadly. They are the Nightborn.
Klaus, Father Frost, and the Yule-Goat team up to face these invading Nightborn.
The story does jump around too much making it hard to follow. The bagpipe creatures are drawn as a deadly flying swarm.
A Snowman named Sam plays a big part in what is going on. He works with Klaus.
Lord Surtr is the leader of the invaders. He is an evil-looking being. Looks can be deceiving. Klaus faces him head-on on each leader with their group behind him. Klaus or Santa Claus knows who is naughty and whos nice. That comes in handy here.
The Snowman is a hero yet before he was human and a dad he did things he should not have. This dad is given a second chance at his life and you just know this time he will not waste it. Klaus aka Santa Claus gives the best presents of all. The emotions here are way over the top and the most wonderful thing ever.
“Klaus and the Life & Times of Joe Christmas” is overflowing with pin-in pages galore that are like a Christmas calendar. These will get you in the Christmas spirit. Yes, there is even a chicken playing a guitar. The mixture of Christmas and sci-fi works well also the drawing in the past.
If you did not love Christmas before you certainly will now.
