Flare is illustrated here with an edge to her character.
The Sky Marshal stands ready to protect Flare from aliens. Are there really aliens? Well, the Sky Marshal can track Flare because of her Photonic Energy which gives her her powers. Flare is written with a tough attitude. She is a strong woman in both body and mind.
The story could have used more action. The fight with the Sky Marshal was over way to quick.
“Flare Sunday Pages” Story by Dennis Mallonee, art by Gordon Purcell, colors by Mike Estlick and letters by Comiccraft’s Albert Deshesne.
This is a short story with a fun ending. We see Flare gets a new way to carry a change of clothes around with her.
“Freedom’s Just Another Word” Story Dennis Mallonee, pencils Dell Barras, inks Mark Propst, letters Carrie Spiegle and colors Janice Cohen.
Sparkplug is enjoying her freedom by flying around. Sparkplug is Flare‘s younger sister. Here we see the process she goes through to join the Champions. It does involve a lot of talk and Sparkplug is patient to a limit. The art looks great and Sparkplug’s costume is colorful.
“Retribution” Story Dennis Mallonee, artwork Mark Beachum, letters David Cody Weiss and colors Tom Luth.
This is an adventure when Flare was a girl. There is one great butt shot here of Flare in jeans.
Flare and her brother Shapeshifter do have a unique relationship. Her brother is unstable and so troubled. He though has the ability to see within others and not only know but feel what they do.
Flare will impress you with her inner strength.
