Comments: The painted illustrations are stunning. The period is 1893 and the first illustration of a wintery day is breathtaking. The storytelling grips you immediately.
The style and layout are all beautifully presented. The red lettering and the design around it fit this book so well. The lettering is ooff-setso it does not always line up as it should.
The bleak illustrations of the countryside will have you transfixed. The narrative matches each drawing perfectly.
The story is easier to follow if you are familiar with Dracula. From page to page, it skips ahead not fully covering everything that is happening.
Dracula has come from Transylvania and Jonathan has returned home. Lucy was attacked and her Dr. called to help in healing her. Professor Van Helsing comes.
Lucy makes a beautiful vampire as sheliess in her coffin. Lucy has become a creature of evil praying on children and the art truly brings out that evil.
The group of Mina, Jonathan, Professor Van Helsing, Dr. Seward, Arthur Holmwood, and Quincy Morris join together to hunt down Dracula and end his reign of terror. Dracula goes after Mina.
The group of hunters chase Dracula back to his home in Transylvania. The group finally catches Dracula in the open on the snow-covered fields. It is a blooded battle between good and evil.
