Comments: Briar and Spider may be prisoners yet they have time to argue. Roop is also a prisoner being forced to work for Constable Thack and his wife.
Crane Island Prison is a desolate-looking place. Warden Astrid Straw is merciless.
Briar has lost all hope and she is depressed. She has no will to live. The prison where she is is so bleak it just adds to her attitude. At the prison, prisoners are not just imprisoned they are mistreated.
Briar, Spider, and Roop are all being treated similarly. All three hate it. All three see no way out of it and this is depressing.
Gendrid shows up and yes it is easy to see she is evil and she wants something from Briar. This leads to an action on Briar’s part which leads to a surprise. Now unfortunately not a lot happens in this issue. About the only thing is plans for the next issue are started.
The comic needs more of a direction to it. It requires a purpose other than watching the miserable lives of our four main characters. Captain Bly is touched upon and he is miserable as well and he is also confined.
These characters need to be used better and they can be.
