Comments: “Friendly Filcher” Reggie shows his true colors here as he first gets in Archie and Betty’s bad graces and then in their good ones. He is Reggie, though, so back again he goes. Once a fink, always a fink, and yes, a filcher too. The art is gorgeously done in the traditional style, which shows off the characters to perfection.
“Simian on my Shoulder” A few corny jokes lighten the mood. Reggie’s tricks lead to Betty and Archie having a nice evening together. The animals are cute in the illustrations.
“Shutterbug Blues” Reggie’s ego almost causes him a lot of humiliation. It’s a good thing his ego still lets him have a friend like Betty. Betty is a friend first and foremost. Gorgeous art even Reggie’s muscles look good.
“Happy Hiker” We get the Third Wall being broken. Veronica and Betty have been arguing a lot and as they hike through the woods all the animals are fighting. The animals teach the girls that getting along works for the best at least for a short time. The art is beautiful and does a wonderful job showing off characters and animals.
These older stores and the art in them make this more than worthwhile. The old-time ads are fun to see. These facsimile editions shine bright as literary art.
