Comments: Chapter 1: Stevie is a young boy who has adventures with his dad. Now the two of them are just having a father/son day in Overworld. That day turns into something to be feared.
Chapter 2: The Overworld is now filled with monsters. Things keep getting worse. The father though seems more concerned about Stevie visiting his friends than about the loose monsters.
Chapter 3: A Wither attacks. Father ans son both attack back. The father uses a diamond sword and the son a wooden one. The sword attack does not go well.
Chapter 4: The Wither is looking for a boy and Stevie is that boy. Stevie and his father do convince it to leave.
Chapter 5: Stevie’s father is concerned about his people while Stevie cares more about his friends on Earth. This puts father and son at odds.
Chapter 6: Stevie does find himself in a fight. The writing does not make it sound overly exciting.
Chapter 7: Stevie’s earth friends come to join him in Overworld. They have come ready for a fight.
Chapter 8: Stevie’s dad is convinced Stevie’s friends should stay and help fight. There is a lot oftension between father and son shown.
Chapter 9: The Wither and the other creatures with it are threatening the land and the people. They do fight back but it is not an easy battle.
Chapter 10: The Wither a huge frightening beast gets its wish. It finds the boy with the portal to Earth.
Chapter 11: The Wither does seem extremely intelligent for a monster. It knows what it wants and will stop at nothing to get it.
Chapter 12: The Wither’s plan starts to come together. This thing wants to conquer.
Chapter 13: Stevie makes for the portals. He has a plan but will it work. He does show some confidance.
Chapter 14: Stevie faces the Wither head on one on one. Its monster vs kid. The kid gets dropped.
Chapter 15: The story does start to get a bit more exciting. Stevie does have a plan. It is a mystery as to what it is.
Chapter 16: The plan is outlined. Father and son and their family and friends must all work together. The story though lacks any emotional bond between the characters.
Chapter 17: The plan is coming together. The players are all moving into place.
Chapter 18: The plan hits a snag as they tend to do. The Wither is more dangerous and more intelligent than was thought.
Chapter 19: Here the final attack on the Nether occurs. It is anti-climatic.
Chapter 20: Yancy finds out that lots of people do care about him. He also showed everyone he is a hero.
Chapter 21: Stevie and his dad finally get to spend some father and son time together and bond. It does get a little emotional.
This book would be better if you had played Minecraft or read some of the other books in the series.
The adventure is low key. Yet it does provide some thrills and chills. You do learn that you never want to meet a Wither.
