This week I will look at the Rick And Morty: Rick or Treat Halloween Special from the good folks at ONI Press. Rick is hard at work in the garage, but Morty just won’t stop yapping, so he opens up a portal and brings in a weird, gothy-looking girl named Lil Wigsley. Rick explains that Lil Wigsley will tell Morty stories if he realizes that these aren’t just any old stories. They’re horrifically banal, but it soon becomes clear that Rick and Sister Lil Wigsley’s intent to distract Morty is more terrifying than the tepid tales they’ve been spinning!

This one-shot highlights why Rick And Morty has a strong fanbase due to the creative team once again taking the task of perfecting the show’s envelope-pushing humor to great heights and the fact that this is a Halloween special makes this even more interesting, especially when you take into account the stories presented in this special as they may come across as downright weird but they do, however, bring with them an ounce of laughs while making good with the numerous twists and turns while adding in some forth-wall breaking elements that set it apart from the various Halloween specials that implement humor into its stories. Rick And Morty fans will enjoy this without finding anything negative about the stories that Lil Wigsley spun throughout the special but it also gives the readers a Halloween event that no one will ever forget.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
