Cyanide & Happiness: Stab Factory (2015)
Writers & Artists: Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker & Dave McElfatrick
Rating:
For this week’s installment of weird comics, I’ll be taking a look at Cyanide & Happiness: Stab Factory, which is a compilation of strips published by the good folks from BOOM Studios back in 2015.
If you’re not familiar with Cyanide & Happiness then you might want to check out social media, as the strips and animated shorts have made a tremendous impact on Pop Culture thanks in part to its crude yet subtle take on comedy, and these strips will instantly have you laughing as the C&H team of Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker and Dave McElfatrick display some classic strips as well as some that have never been seen not to mention a section of this compilation that features poetry in the C&H tradition, so that’s a rare treat for fans of this cult-following series. What I always loved about the C&H strips is how they will take some of the most average things about life and make them fun with such absurdity and most of all…..The humor is unapologetic! which definitely gives C&H its charm and the readers reap the benefits because of that, so after reading this, you won’t know if you should laugh or cry, but I feel it’s just best to let yourself be surprised!
Well, that’s it for me. I’ll be back with another review and I think I’ll start reviewing a slew of Loki stories because of the Marvel Studios show so be on the lookout for that. Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
