This week, I will review “Creepshow In Love #1” from Image Comics, a special three-course treat for all the lonely hearts! First, Mirka Andolfo (Sweet Paprika) weaves a chilling tale about the Valentine’s Day Killer in “Madness of Two”! Next, Patrick Horvath (Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees) brews a love potion for a “Cursed Casanova”! Finally, Yul-Pyeong Oh and Puré invite you to the zoo for the most disastrous first date ever in “Penguin Avenger.”

This one-shot hits the mark in blending horror with romance, enhancing the shock and awe while delivering an exceptionally dark perspective on love that may resonate with anyone and prompt them to reconsider the quest for true love. While this special features three terrifying stories, it’s the Mirka Andolfo and Patrick Horvath tales that embody the essence of this one-shot. However, Yul-Pyeong Oh and Puré’s story, “Penguin Avenger,” feels more like filler material and seems like it would be better suited for a regular “Creepshow” issue. Nonetheless, “Creepshow In Love” successfully surprises and intrigues, offering an ideal way for anyone to spend their Valentine’s Day, though it may have viewers of Hallmark Channel movies reaching for the light switch after experiencing this one-shot.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for hanging in there, and I look forward to seeing you all next time.
