Yes, it’s a bummer that another Christmas has come and gone and now we’re full-speed ahead of New Year’s Eve, so what better way to celebrate the upcoming holiday than by looking back at Archie # 432; In case anyone’s wondering the answer is yes, this issue gives us a hilarious New Year’s Eve story but not without the standard three lead stories that accompany that story, so let’s take a look, shall we…
The first story sees Jughead asking Archie if he wants to go skiing but his father tells him to clean his room in order for him
to go and yes, only Archie can find a way to mess things up (In the process of cleaning his room, Archie couldn’t find his skis). Then the second story sees Archie and Reggie Mantle in a snowball fight that doesn’t end well for Reggie (The ending is something to believe. Don’t get me wrong, it’s funny but you’ll find yourself rolling your eyes at the outcome); The third story sees Archie and his father going to the attic to find something valuable when they come across a train set that brings them together. Finally, it’s the New Year’s Eve story and it sees Archie dealing with a big dilemma- He made a promise to kiss both Betty AND Veronica at the stroke of midnight but when the moment comes, he gets a surprise from Hot Dog to the dismay of Veronica but our pal Archie does get a happy ending (**NO SPOILERS**)
The stories in this issue continue to maintain the lighthearted yet innocent humor that Archie is known for. Still, it’s the New Year’s eve story that is the massive standout because it takes the aspects of the holiday and has fun with it which in turn will get anyone to check out this issue. New Year’s signals the end of another year and the start of a new one, but this issue gives the readers plenty of laughs to help ease into a new year while reminding everyone there’s always a way to find something fun about ringing in the new year.
Well, that’s it for me. I’ll be back next week with a new review so thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
