With the finale of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” near the corner, this week I’ll take a look at “All-New Captain America # 1” from 2014 which sees Sam Wilson’s adventures as Captain America.
The series kicks off with Sam and Ian Rogers (Nomad) infiltrating a Hydra base in order to stop them from taking over the world and after reading this, I definitely love what Remender and Immonen brought to the table when it comes to establishing Sam and Ian’s partnership as the two of them are still figuring out how to be a team and the action sequences by Stuart Immonen and Wade Von Grawbadger really bring in the ‘WOW’ factor with the visuals; The showdown that Sam has with Batroc is amazing and seeing the former do his best to step out of the shadow of Steve Rogers makes for an exciting story.
All-New Captain America marks another exciting chapter in the life of The Sentinel of Liberty, and while it isn’t Steve Rogers holding the shield, it’s in the good hands of a character who’s proven himself to be a true hero time after time and this series also showed the readers that Sam Wilson’s tenure as Captain America was not only a milestone for Marvel but very memorable thanks to the great stories that came out of it.
Well, that’s it for me this week. I’ll be back with another review, so thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
