“Mocha and Raven, Part 2”, Powers Squared’s 17th issue, drops on Wednesday, June 14th. The issue picks up where Part 1 ended, with Marty and Eli in trouble at the powerful hands of Billy O’Shea and Raven, his yatagarasu yokai companion.
“This issue allowed us to explore a little of Billy’s origin story,” said David Hankins, one of the co-creators of Powers Squared. “In many ways, his story is similar to Marty and Eli’s, in that it was an act of kindness that resulted in his grant of powers.”
“Billy has a special relationship with Raven but at this point, it is more guardian-son. For her, he’s a substitute for the children she never had,” says Paul Hankins, a co-creator, co-writer, and editor of the series.
While Paul and David handled the writing on this issue, the artwork is done by Rachel Wells, the coloring by Julia Canon, and the lettering by Trevor Hankins, who is also a co-creator of the book.
