4/24/2024, Missoula, Montana – Post Malone, Michael Bay and Brad Fuller’s Platinum Dunes, and Vault Comics have partnered to create an all-new IP universe based on an original story by the 8x diamond recording artist.
This continues a hot streak for Post Malone, who recently made history with the first ever RIAA-certified Double-Diamond single, mesmerized audiences with his pre-Super Bowl performance of “America the Beautiful” and had a role in the record-breaking remake of the iconic 1989 film Road House, which was the most viewed film launch on Prime Video.
Blending elements of road thrillers like Mad Max: Fury Road, and demonic horror like Evil Dead, the story is set in medieval Europe, where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent back from the heavens.
“I’m so pumped to share this badass story with the world, and I couldn’t ask for better partners than Michael Bay and Vault to help bring this story to life,” says Post.
Working closely with Post Malone, Vault will launch the story first as a graphic novel, set for publication in 2025. Meanwhile, Post Malone, Platinum Dunes, and Vault will concurrently develop a feature film adaptation of the story.
“This is the kind of project you dream about,” said Vault CEO Damian Wassel. “We get to work with an exceptional artist at the top of his game to build a completely original story from the ground up. We have an iconic director helping to guide the creative development. We’re going to bring the world a mind-blowing graphic novel, and that’s just the beginning.”
“I love working with talented people, and Post Malone is incredibly gifted,” says Bay. “I am excited to work with him on such an intriguing idea, and when you add Vault to the mix, it raises the bar to another level. This new IP is just what the graphic world needs right now.”

ABOUT POST MALONE
An 8x diamond-certified GRAMMY® Award-nominated phenomenon, Dallas, TX artist Post Malone regularly rewrites history, blurs boundaries, and incites internet-breaking conversation with every move. Emerging in 2015 with a genre-less brew that inspired a movement, he delivered the diamond-selling “Congratulations” [feat. Quavo], achieved back-to-back #1 debuts on the Billboard Top 200, received countless multi-Platinum certifications around the world, and smashed one record after another with his Hot 100-topping hits. In 2022, he pushed boundaries again with his fourth full-length offering, Twelve Carat Toothache, which marked his fourth consecutive Top 5 bow on the Top 200. It also paved the way for his biggest headliner to date, The Twelve Carat Toothache Tour, taking over arenas for multiple dates in major cities throughout the year. He even scored the first ever RIAA Double-Diamond Single for his song “Sunflower” (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) [feat. Swae Lee], netting the biggest single of his generation. In 2023, he garnered a GRAMMY® Award nod in the category of “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for “I Like You (A Happier Song)” [with Doja Cat], marking his tenth career nomination in six years.
Three years prior, his 2019 third full-length album, Hollywood’s Bleeding [Republic Records], represented an audience and critical high watermark. Not only did it arrive at platinum status and eventually go triple platinum, but it also reigned at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 for four weeks and returned to the chart for a fifth week, making for the longest run atop the chart of 2019 and the first release to do so in over a year. The quadruple-platinum lead single “Circles” seized #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks. It notably occupied a spot on the chart for a record 39 weeks in total. Speaking of making history, he performed a massively popular Nirvana tribute concert on YouTube, raising over $10,000,000 for the World Health Organization in the fight against COVID-19. Hollywood’s Bleeding followed the immense success of the triple-Platinum beerbongs & bentleys, which also landed at #1 a year prior. In the wake of beerbongs & bentleys, Post crushed a record in place for 54 years. He charted nine songs in the Top 20 of the Hot 100, notching “the most songs in the Top 20 of the Hot 100 ever.” Moreover, he also trounced the record for most simultaneous Top 40 Hot 100 hits with 14.
As of 2023, his catalog comprises the GRAMMY® Award-nominated “rockstar” [feat. 21 Savage (Diamond), “Sunflower” (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) [feat. Swae Lee] (Diamond), “I Fall Apart” (5x-platinum), “Psycho” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign] (5x-platinum), “White Iverson” (5x-platinum), “Better Now” (4x-platinum), and more. Not to mention, he sold out numerous arena tours and hosted and curated his own mega-popular Posty Fest in 2018 and 2019. It all started with his quintuple-platinum influential 2016 debut, Stoney. With records under his belt that will likely never be surpassed and a generation of artists and audiences worldwide under his spell, Post Malone simply doesn’t stop.
Most recently, he released his highly anticipated fifth full-length record AUSTIN. The album, self-titled after Post’s legal name, is yet another shift in sound for Post and features all live instrumentation produced by Post and his longtime collaborators Louis Bell and Andrew Watt. In June, he received the Songwriters Hall of Fame “Hal Davis Starlight Award.”
ABOUT PLATINUM DUNES
Producers Michael Bay and Brad Fuller are behind some of today’s most successful genre films. In 2001 they formed the production company Platinum Dunes; their films have since grossed more than $2.7 billion at the worldwide box office.
In 2018, Platinum Dunes produced the hugely successful horror film A Quiet Place, starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. On a budget of only $17 million, the film grossed $341 million globally, and was named one of the top movies of 2018 by the National Board of Review. A Quiet Place: Part II was released theatrically on May 28, 2021, and became the first major blockbuster since the start of the COVID pandemic, grossing $297 million worldwide. A Quiet Place won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Horror Movie in 2019, followed by A Quiet Place: Part II earning the same honor in 2022.
Platinum Dunes has also produced the highly successful Purge franchise. With five installments to date, the franchise has amassed receipts of more than $534 million worldwide against a combined filmmaking budget of $53 million. Additionally, Platinum Dunes has produced several highly popular television series, including the recently completed Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, which is available on Amazon. The series ran for four seasons and is Amazon’s highest-rated scripted show. Previously, Platinum Dunes produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which grossed over $493 million worldwide and became the highest grossing film of the TMNT franchise. In addition, Ouija, which was made for only $5 million, brought in more than $103 million at the global box office. The Platinum Dunes team also produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016); A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010); Friday the 13th (2009); The Amityville Horror (2005) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003); as well as four seasons of the popular Starz television series Black Sails and five seasons of TNT’s hit show, The Last Ship.
Platinum Dunes has an established track record of revamping and creating successful franchises, as well as producing cost-friendly original films that do extremely well at the box office. In keeping with this trend, some upcoming feature projects include established IP such as A Quiet Place: Day One; the upcoming A Quiet Place: Part III; along with original new IP such as Shredded, produced in tandem with Screen Gems.
Bay Films is also known for its lucrative projects with several record-breaking openings over the last 25 years. Among those titles are Ambulance, 6 Underground, the Transformers franchise, 13 Hours, Pain and Gain, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, The Rock, and Bad Boys I and II. Between the two companies, Bay’s box office encompasses over $10.3 billion in ticket sales alone, not taking into account equally impressive figures earned in a range of ancillary markets. He is currently the 5th highest grossing director of all time.
