Portrait of a Fangirl, a platform celebrating women’s empowerment through fandom, is thrilled to announce a live podcast panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The discussion will explore how fandom fosters strength, perseverance, and purpose, while examining the creation of safe and inclusive communities. Moderated by Alix Catherine (Host of The Welcome Party), this unique event will feature a dynamic conversation among prominent women in pop culture and entertainment, sharing how fandom has shaped their personal and professional lives. Panelists include Jenna Wrenn (Host, Portrait of a Fangirl), Laura Sirikul (Journalist, Writer, & Critic), Victoria Male (Writer & Producer), Kayden Phoenix (Writer, Director, & Comics Creator), and Sabeen Faheem (Actor, Cosplayer, & Celebrity Assistant).
Items that will be discussed at the panel include subjects such as “discovering strength and perseverance through fandom, deriving purpose through pop culture, and building safe and responsive communities.”
The panel takes place July 26 at 8:30 pm in room 32AB inside the San Diego Convention Center.
