Starting May 22, Overwatch will be celebrating the game’s second anniversary. The popular team based shooter from Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating with new skins, emotes, and even a new deathmatch map. Some characters getting new skins will be Doomfist, Brigitte, Symmetra, McCree, Junkrat, Bastion, Tracer, plus others. Doomfist, Moira and Brigitte will also receive new dance emotes.
Take a look at what Overwatch has to offer:
Also returning for this anniversary event will be brawls/modes from previous events. Players will have a chance to relive events such as Lucioball (Summer Games), Junkenstein’s Revenge (Halloween), Mei’s Snowball Fight (Holiday), Uprising, and Retribuion. The events will change daily throughout the event. Blizzard has also released all previous skins, emotes, and sprays that were previously locked from all past events. The items will be available for individual credit purchase and in loot boxes. Also, all players will receive a free legendary anniversary box with at least one guaranteed legendary item.
A new map has also been added to the Deathmatch mode. Petra looks to give free for all players a new challenge.
Official Petra description:
“A group of archaeologists have begun an excavation and preservation project among the ruins of Petra, a new Deathmatch map that puts all heroes on their own, facing off against one another until one hero scores enough eliminations to win the match. Take in Petra’s majestic views, from high vistas to twisting passageways and deep caverns. Travel along deadly cliffs, but be careful to not fall off! A dilapidated bridge stretches across the map, and the ground underneath it can crumble away to reveal a lethal pit. Hopping on a green jump pad will boost you up to Petra’s higher levels and unlock new strategic possibilities for you. . . .”
The Overwatch Anniversary Event will run until June 11.
