Book Illustrations feature Adventure, Romance
Auburn, N.Y. (March 29, 2021): Local artist, author and entrepreneur Ed Catto will showcase his original artwork for Airship 27 Production’s latest anthology, The Musketeers – New Adventures. As a leading publisher of the new pulp movement, Airship 27 publishes prose books with several full-page illustrations included in each. Catto, the winner of the 2019 Pulp Factory Award for interior illustration, provided 12 illustrations which will be on display at Auburn, NY’s Underground Bottle Shop.
From the pages of Alexandre Dumas’ classic adventure novels come the Three Musketeers, pledging their loyalty in their boisterous cry, “All for one and one for all!” In three fast-paced action tales, the famous Musketeers are back to thrill and excite new readers. From France, Italy, Spain and then the new world of Canada, each adventure is full of adventure, intrigue, romance and swordplay. New Pulp scribes Joel Jenkins, Paul Beale and Alan J. Porter deliver three engaging tales continuing the exploits of Dumas’ cavalier musketeers.
“A tumultuous time in French history,” commented Airship 27 Production’ Managing Editor Ron Fortier. “Filled with all manner of villains, swashbuckling heroes and beautiful ladies in distress. Here in these pages are Alexandre Dumas’ Musketeers once again ready to pledge their swords to God, King and Country. Artist Ed Catto provides the stunning interior illustrations.”
This artwork, in the tradition of classic pulps, are 11 x 17 pen, brush and ink illustrations.
“Over the past few years, Underground Bottle Shop has been committed to not only providing great products and service to customers, but also to celebrating local talent,” said Underground Bottle Shops’ Rob Hickson.
The gallery showcase will run for the month of April at Underground Bottle Shop located at 29 E Genesee Street in Auburn, NY. Original artwork and copies of The Musketeers – New Adventure will be on sale at the store.
