Moonstone Books held the publishing license to the Phantom and Mandrake from 2002 to 2010. The classic stories from that 8-year run are still being published in  Australia, France, Norway, Germany, Greece, Brazil, and Turkey.

Dynamite Entertainment acquired the license to publish the Phantom and other King Features Syndicate titles in 2010.

Last July, Mad Cave announced they had picked up the Flash Gordon license.

Now Moonstone Books has picked up the popular King Features titles the Phantom The Ghost Who Walks, Mandrake The Magician, and Lother Prince of the Seven Nations.

In addition to the new Moonstone Comics, there are plans for a new Phantom Video Game, and the Phantom TV show is currently being in development at Universal Content Productions.

Moonstone plans to release all-new bi-monthly comics in the first half of 2024. Eventually leading to a crossover between The Phantom and Mandrake.

Mike Bullock continues his role as the senior writer and editor and will be joined by Douglas Klauba, Sergio Ibáñez, and others.

Moonstone Comics will be available in the US, Canada, Australian, Sweden, India, and other markets through Diamond Comic Distribution or you can buy them directly from Moonstone’s website.

The Phantom, The Ghost Who Walks
A legend shrouded in mystery, drives fear into the hearts of even the most hardened criminals. With only his physical strength, skill with weapons, and a fearsome reputation for fighting crime, The Phantom dedicated his life to the elimination of evil, vowing that his descendants would carry on the tradition. In time, there arose a legend of The Ghost Who Walks, a hero who cannot die.

Mandrake the Magician
The dapper, mustached magician remains one of the most famous characters in the comic strip medium, his adventures appearing in newspapers worldwide. Mandrake uses his legendary powers of hypnotism and illusion to combat crime and has worked his debonair magic to find a place in the hearts of comic strip fans everywhere.

Lother Prince of the Seven Nations
Lothar is one of the first black crime-fighting heroes in history as well as one of the first black characters to be treated with respect. He is Mandrake’s friend, and partner making Lothar and Mandrake one of if not the first interracial crime fighting teams. He first met Mandrake when the magician was traveling through Africa. Lothar was the “Prince of the Seven Nations,” a great union of tribes. He gave up a chance to be king to travel the globe with Mandrake fighting evil in all its forms.
