Lady Freedom
Welcome one and all to the action packed, super thrilling Spike Jarrell’s Freedomverse. Home to a variety of heroes such as Lady Freedom, Scarlett, Ultra Lass, Miss Enigma and the villainous Black Valkyrie.
Gotta say I really enjoyed my first taste of the Freedomverse. Spike Jarrell’s Brass Ring comics hits a home run with his newest creation Lady Freedom. This, first of many comics, is a visual thrill ride from start to finish. The reader gets introduced to so many amazing characters. Black Valkyrie, Scarlett, Miss Enigma, Ultra Lass and of course Lady Freedom. Now without giving too much away, this story is about good versus evil in the shadow of Lady Liberty. The main character is Native American, Natalie Cloudrider. She is inspired to help protect her country by joining the Freedom Fighting Program. Lady Freedom, along with her side kick Scarlett and friend Camille are tasked with stopping the merciless Black Valkyrie !
What separates a good story from a great story is when everything flows together. This comic is great. It has all that. It is masterfully written by Art Bellfeild. Bellfield really captures the moods with his slick and witty dialogue. Larry Spike Jarrell’s pencils are extraordinary making the action scene almost leap off the pages, accentuated very well by the talented Bill Marimon’s incredible inks.. The comics pages are very vivid and bold thanks to the amazing coloring style of Matheus Huve. Finally no action comic is complete without great sound effects and Hector Negrete knocks it outta the park with his wonderful lettering and outta this world effects. This just goes to show that a great team can make great comics.
Faithful fans do yourselves a favor and climb on board the for the ride. The Freedomverse is here and Lady Freedom is doing the driving!
