Keith Giffen passed away on October 10, 2023, reportedly after suffering a stroke at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He is known for his work for DC Comics on their Legion of Super-Heroes and Justice League titles as well as for being the co-creator of Lobo and Rocket Raccoon and one of the creators of the Jaime Reyes, Blue Beetle with Cully Hamner.
His first published work was “The Sword and The Star”, a black-and-white text story featured in Marvel Preview #4 (Jan. 1976), with writer Bill Mantlo.
