NEW COMICS 4 THIS WEEK (08/12/20)
*All comics will be rated on a scale from 1 to 10*
Amazing Spider-Man # 46 – It looks like part two of “Sins Rising” is starting to get intense as Spidey comes off as a secondary character when it’s The Sin Eater who takes down The Lethal Legion and what was very interesting to me was how the reappearance of The Sin Eater has Spidey shocked since he wasn’t on his game when it came to taking down The Legion and the witness accounts of the events was a nice touch to give the story more weight plus, I’m really liking the concept of Sin Eater being back so while this installment of Sins Rising may or may not be to everyone’s liking but it does help the built to the next chapter so that’s a good thing.
Detective Comics # 1025- This is a fantastic tie in to “Joker War” and I really enjoyed seeing Batman and Batwoman team up (Reminded me of James Tynion IV’s run of Detective); So that team-up really help make this issue so great and the action sequences were top-notch (Ya gotta love Tomasi’s writing!) and Kenneth Rocafort’s art is really looking very polished (Unlike his early days when he could have benefited with an inker); So for me, I would love for Peter J. Tomasi to stay on Detective forever as his Batman stories would make Dennis O’Neil and Doug Moench very proud.
The Flash # 759- This issue kicks off the first chapter of “Finish Line” which is the beginning of Joshua Williamson’s final arc for the series (He’s been writing Flash since 2016) and just WOW!!… Williamson just came out the gate with a unique twist on the Flash/Reserve Flash feud as the latter has taken over Barry Allen’s body and trapped him in The Speed Force and I know, this concept has been done before (“Superior Spider-Man”, anyone?!) but after reading this, it really does look like Williamson is having a blast writing this and I enjoyed the appearance of Impulse and the ending (**NO SPOILERS**) will appease a ton of Flash fans so this arc looks very promising.
Wonder Woman # 760 – Mariko Tamaki and Mikel Janin’s run is continuing to be very exciting as I really liked seeing Maxwell Lord back in the fold and mix in the mind control aspect of the story and this arc, even though it’s the second part of it, is delivering on all ends when it comes to the excitement and the twist and turns so this is the perfect time to be a Wonder Woman fan.
Well, that’s it for me. Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
